Getting Started

Initially, when we talk on the phone, we will ask you a few simple questions to see if we can service your Asheville pet care needs (zip code, service dates, pet sitting requirements). Alternately, you may sign up with our service by going to the contact page on our web site and clicking on ‘Register.’

Our Procedure

  • Registration – Once we’ve determined that we’re a good fit, we have you fill out basic profile information on your pets and you in our online scheduling site. We provide you with a login to do that.
  • Policies and Procedures (Service Agreement) – Once you’ve registered, we will send you our Policies and Procedures. You can review Miss Jane’s Pet Sitting requirements and expectations, and and then sign and date this document. If you have any questions, we will answer them at the consultation.
  • Meet and Greet – After we review your profile information, we will then set up a time for your consultation, a required meeting which should be scheduled at least 4 days prior to  service. We feel it is crucial for your pet(s) to meet their sitter while you’re still at home. This allows for a smooth transition and less anxiety during the pet sit.  We’ll also discuss  in detail your pets’ behaviors, exercise habits, and daily routines. Feel free to make a list of questions for us. We want to customize our service to your needs!
  • Provide house keys
    Please make TWO copies of your house key for us: one for your sitter and a spare. We typically keep your keys on file; this makes it especially convenient if you make a last minute or emergency request for service or if you get locked out (it happens!)
  • Payment
    Full payment by credit card through our encrypted server is due on or prior to the initial pet sitting visit.

Initial Consultation - $20*

Standard Visit - Start at $22/visit

30 minutes approximately or

Extended visits (45-60 minutes)

Pet Sitting, Dog Walking, Cat Pet Sitting or Bird Sitting

You tell us what your pet care needs are and we’ll make it happen!

To ensure overall well-being, which includes good behavior, sleep, weight and longevity, most dogs require 2-3 walks/visits a day. All cats require a minimum of 1 visit per day. We do not do every-other-day visits, since we feel that cats, like other pets, have safety and social issues that require supervision.

Services Include:

  • Feeding and replacing water
  • Exercise, morning and evening, and tons of playtime, belly rubs
  • Talking, coo-ing, singing, snorting, squawking, whistling, chirping, clucking… all the stuff you do!
  • Daily – if requested – to document all your pets’ activities:
    • pet email/text
    • photo/video or written note
  • Administering medications
  • Brushing and massage
  • Treats (if permitted)
  • Litter box/waste cleanup and removal
  • Mail pick-up, trash/recycle to and from curb, home security check, watering plants (up to 10 minutes), etc.

Overnight Pet Sitting Visits - Start at $85/visit

Please Note:

We have full liability and bond insurance (covering all our sitters) to protect your property as well as your pets while you’re away!

  • Arrival: 6-7 p.m.
  • Departure: 7-8 a.m. (all times are approximate: if schedule is light, we may spend additional time)
  • We are the only professional pet sitting company in Asheville the guarantees 13 hour overnights.

Especially for senior dogs, senior cats, puppies and/or those with separation anxiety who need special care. Ensures stress-free pet care (for you AND your pets) while you’re away.

Service includes: 2 ‘Standard’ Visits at supper and breakfast PLUS

  • Arrival: All of the services you see in the ‘Standard Visit’ above
  • Departure: All of the services you see in the ‘Standard Visit’ above
  • Additional: Lots of time together gives your pets the extra comfort and sense of security they have when you are at home with them.

Express Visit - Start at $20/visit

10 minutes approximately

Potty Break/Quick Walk – for senior dogs and puppies, who may need additional breaks during the day

Downtown Asheville, North Asheville and Woodfin ONLY

Pet Hotel Pet Sitting - $30/hour

3 hour minimum

Asheville Visitors, Out-of-Town Vacationers/Relocators

Restrictions:

  • Minimum of 48 hour notice requested
  • Asheville Pet Hotel must be within 5 miles of downtown.

Additional Fees May Apply:

  • Extra services (emergency visit to vet, etc.)
  • Late night Visits
  • Last minute consultations (less than 48 hr. prior to initial service date.)
  • Last minute Pet Hotel requests
  • Travel charges may apply if not in service area

Additional Services: Call for rates 

  • House Sitting / House Check – No pets
  • Pet Taxi: To Vet, Groomer, Airport, etc.
